I am going to start by saying my heart goes out to all of those who have been impacted by this terrible pandemic sweeping across our world. In writing this blog, I am not down playing the impact Covid has had and continues to have on millions of people. I am not making light of the situation but rather trying to find good in a place where so much pain and hurt resides right now. I must also say that I am beyond grateful and feel incredibly fortunate my family has continued to remain healthy and safe during these crazy times. I don’t take our situation for granted by any…

It’s August 1, 2020. Do you know what that means? It means we are just 153 days from the turn of a new year. A chance to set new goals, to reset and to start a new year. 2020 will definitely be a year none of us will forget. Even though many want to forget it as soon as possible. Parts of this year will end up in our history books. Others will leave our hearts hurting for years to come. We’ve learned lots of lessons. Some good, some not so good. August 1 also means it’s time for back to school. A time of year when parents and kids…

It’s with a heavy heart I wake up this morning. The news of more violence and another life taken makes me terribly sad. It also makes me outraged, frustrated, disappointed and at a loss of words. Why are we allowing this behavior to continue? Innocent lives are being taken for senseless reasons. And the individuals responsible for the violence are not being held accountable for their actions. At least not until there is national outrage, rioting and looting. I can’t begin to imagine how George Floyd’s family is feeling right now. Not only have they lost their brother, cousin, son, etc, they have to be exposed to the act of…

Last night I had the honor of engaging with a number of strong, intelligent, and compassionate women in our newly launched Virtual Women’s Network. (If you haven’t checked it out yet, contact me and I will send you an invite.) On Wednesday nights, we gather for a virtual happy hour to learn from one another. Last night, we shared random acts of kindness that we have either demonstrated or been the recipient of. It was so rewarding to have a call filled with such positive conversation and inspiration. Listening to each individual tell their experience caused me to pause and think about my own behavior. I try very hard to…

To say the last few weeks have been unnerving is an understatement. We are living day by day not knowing what tomorrow holds let alone the future. We wake up wondering if we live in a state that will adopt a #ShelterAtHome mandate, if there will be groceries available as well as many other things.  We are working from home and our kids are going to school from home. Our routines have been disrupted and we are all at home together. And let’s be honest, having everyone home for an extended period of time can cause all of us to be a bit batshit crazy even during the best of…

We are living in very interesting times right now. People are fearful, uncertain and down right panicked. Our economy is taking a beating and we are heading into a Presidential Election year which always creates chaos no matter who’s running or what their platform’s focus is. But like everything else we have experienced, this too shall pass. It might just take longer than we would like. We have been presented with endless opportunities to demonstrate gratitude, patience and compassion when it matters most. I have seen tremendous examples of people leaning in and helping those in need. I have had conversations with exceptional humans who are using this time to…

Welcome to 2020! I am still reeling in the fact it’s not only a new year but we have a new decade ahead of us. There is something so pure and satisfying about starting fresh. A renewed sense of hope, excitement and optimism fill our thoughts as we look to begin executing on our resolutions. Whether you have resolved to lose weight, eat healthier, quit smoking, start being more patient or read more, what you really need is a reality check not a resolution. Let’s start with the basic definition of resolution: a firm decision to do or not do something. Every day we make numerous “resolutions” as we go…

  • Stop Grumbling Sterling!!!!

December 16, 2019 / Comments Off on Stop Grumbling Sterling!!!!

Look at those smiling faces. Am I not the luckiest person in the world? I am blessed with an amazing family, wonderful friends, soon to be great health and a career I love and am passionate about. So why must I find myself grumbling frequently? One could suggest it’s simply the time of year. The holidays bring out the chaos and craziness in all of us. There’s so much to do and not enough time to do it. This time of year we don’t typically allow ourselves grace. We are too focused on perfection and making spirits bright for all. Except for ourselves of course. And my poor family. They…

It’s the day after #BlackFriday and as I sit here in my living room, fireplace going, Christmas tree lit and Christmas With The Kranks playing, I am reminded of the many things that make me love this time of year. It’s quiet and not a creature is stirring which is the perfect time to write. As I began thinking about my next post, It dawned on me that many people following along don’t know the “real” #Mamallama. This is the perfect time to change that. It’s important you have some context to who I am as you follow the #MamaLlamasWorld journey. The best way to learn about me is with…
