Just Let Me Introduce Myself

As I sit here preparing to introduce myself and my “pack”, the song, The Humpty Dance by Digital Underground bounces through my head. I know what you are thinking…Digital Underground, seriously? You actually listened to that music? I am sorry to disappoint some of you but not only did I listen to it, I bought the cassette tape and listened to it repeatedly. Like a fine wine, my choices in music got better with age.

So just let me introduce myself, my name is Lisa. Yep, that doesn’t work nearly as well Humpty. In any case, my name is Lisa. I like to be called Lisa. Three very special humans call me mom and Mama Llama. I’ve been called Liza, Lis, Sterling, boss, white hat (fond soccer memory) wifey and many other endearing names. I am the proud mama llama of three daughters, a wife to a spectacular man and the Chief People and Culture Officer at an awesome HCM technology company called Ceridian.

In my spare time, (yes, I do have spare time) I can be found on the sidelines of a soccer game, lacing up my shoes and heading out for a run or sipping a fine glass of red wine. Well maybe drinking an ice cold beer too. I am a working mom, wife, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, mentor, sponsor and friend.

Over the course of time, you will learn more about me, my family, my career, my thoughts, feelings and even some of my quirky behaviors. In writing this blog, I hope to inspire, encourage, engage, motivate, challenge, and teach you from my experiences. I also have a desire to learn from you. I encourage you to share your ideas, your thoughts and your opinions. Challenge me, ask me, educate me. But always be nice to me. As humans we need to treat each other with respect.

Now a little bit about this blog. You need to know what to expect as I don’t want to set false expectations in what you will get from me. I promise I will always be authentic, genuine, caring and thoughtful about what I write. You will have the opportunity to hear from other guest bloggers. A few may have the same last name as me 😉 Others will not but all the same, they will be nothing short of wonderful and will always have something meaningful to say.

We will tackle lots of different topics, brainstorm and debate and hope to make you LOL. It really is that simple. And who knows, maybe someday someone will read my series of blogs and think huh…does this have the makings of comedy movie? I wonder who would play me. I’ve been told I look like Kristen Wiig. We are both quirky, say what’s on our mind, make fun of ourselves and laugh uncontrollably at times. But let’s be honest, a reality tv show is probably more of an appropriate representation of my crazy life.

So let’s get this party started. Please share this blog with others who you consider friends, families, colleagues, etc. And if you have a blog or other avenues where you share your thoughts and tell your story, please share it with me. We have to support, advocate for and champion each other. We can make this world a better place together.
